The AFA and FPA conferences were a highlight of the last quarter of 2009 for financial planners. IRESS Wealth Management was represented at both events, and in addition to generating interest for our software solutions, our Business Development Team hosted an ‘IRESS Market Challenge’ competition for conference delegates.

The 2009 AFA and FPA conferences were a highlight of the last quarter of 2009 for financial planners. IRESS Wealth Management was represented at both events, and in addition to generating interest for our software solutions, our Business Development Team hosted an ‘IRESS Market Challenge’ competition for conference delegates.
Competition entrants submitted a small portfolio of direct equities for trading on the live market over the course of the two-day event. The eventual winners were those with the highest portfolio value at the close of trade on day two.
The winner of our competition at the AFA Conference on the Gold Coast was AMP Planner Mary Benton from Plan 4 Wealth in Pakenham, Victoria. Mary managed a very healthy 11% return on her portfolio over two days of positive market activity.
The FPA Conference hosted in Melbourne was held over two days of more docile market activity, with our winner Dacian Moses from Waterfall Way Associates in Coffs Harbour managing to take out the competition with a portfolio return of less than 1%.
Congratulations to both our winners who each collected a 50” Samsung Plasma TV for their efforts!
